Cruise Ship Dock

Conflict Islands, Papua New Guinea

210-metre cruise ship dock

In 2017, Dock Marine Australasia completed a 210-metre floating cruise ship dock project in Papua New Guinea's Conflict Islands. The dock was constructed using Dock Marine's Rotodock system, comprised of polyethylene modular parts.

The Rotodock System is made with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic and contains no fillers or foam for floatation, making it exceptionally durable and able to withstand years of use. The uniquely engineered, patented modular design is comprised of chambers that displace water and trap air for optimal buoyancy.

The docking system's rotational technology and secure connections allow for movement in adverse weather conditions in order to avoid damage.

The beige colour of the docking modules provides a cooler, more comfortable surface and the dock’s nonslip surface prevents sliding.

The dock stretches from the white sand beach of the island right up to the drop-off point of the reef. Due to the modular design of the Rotodock system, we were able to tailor this specific project to the needs of the client and the environmental conditions.
